North Somerset Children's University

The Children’s University is an international critically-acclaimed charity which encourages all children aged 5 to 14 years to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills through participation in innovative and creative Learning Activities outside of the school day. Learning Activities are designed to:

  • Raise aspiration, self-esteem & confidence
  • Encourage curiosity and a love of learning
  • Enhance motivation and build resilience
  • Introduce new life experiences
  • Offer progression in learning and personal skills development

Any child, aged 5 to 14 years can join us and, when issued with a Children's University passport to learning, is able to take part in Children's University validated learning activities and experiences.

Celebrating achievement is important to us. Each hour of Children's University validated learning they complete brings the child closer to Children's University graduation certificate, presented at a locally organised Children's University gradutaion ceremony.

Mead Vale will be holding an award ceremony at the beginning of term 5 academic year 2016-2017.
