PTFA

Who are the PTFA?

As parents of Mead Vale school we all have a responsibility to support our children’s education. The PTFA is the perfect way to support the more enriching aspects of school life. All parents and carers of children at our school are welcome to get involved in the PTFA. We are an all inclusive group consisting of full time working mums and dads, stay at home parents, teachers and governors. All we ask is that parents give just half an hour of their time helping at a school event. Together  we achieve more!

What does the PTFA do?

The PTFA is here to help our school give our children the best possible education by running regular fundraising and social events for Mead Vale pupils and their families.

In the past year we have organised ‘Merry Christmas’ Fayre which raised a record breaking amount of £2,000 and  our Summer Extravaganza which yet again broke fundraising records raising £2,900. None of this would be possible without our parents!

We have also organised some great community events over the last six months – Our bedtime story hour, family Halloween disco and we are looking forward to our first family Valentines disco.

In the past the PTFA has helped pay for the covered walkway between the main building and the Owl’s Nest, and paid towards the wooden train, pagodas, benches and other playground equipment. Our latest purchase is a new PA system for the school. Which can be used on sports day out on the field. We support termly our amazing readers in KS2 purchasing awards and book tokens and the year sixes during the summer fayre to fund their own leavers disco.

We are starting to develop fantastic community links – the first of which includes the story chair in the Forest school area which was donated by Weston Collage.

We Need You!

Please let us know what you can do to help the PTFA help our children. Tell us what events you’d like the PTFA to organise, and please let us know if you are willing to help at an event, or if you have skills that might be useful. We are often looking for raffle prizes for the Summer Fete or Christmas Fair, do you or the company you work for have anything that can be donated? Does the company you work for offer matched giving?
