Admission Arrangements

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below. 



Mead Vale is a 420 place 4-11 years Primary School. We have 14 classes with 30 pupils in each. We are a popular school with extensive grounds enabling children to access a variety of experiences and opportunities for learning outside of the classroom.


The class structure is:


  • Two classes of Reception (Foundation Stage) 4-5 years
  • Two classes of Year 1 and two classes of Year 2 (Key Stage 1) 5-7 years
  • Two classes of Year 3 and two classes of Year 4 (Lower Key Stage 2) 7-9 years
  • Two classes of Year 5 and two classes of Year 6 (Upper Key Stage 2) 9-11 years


The closing date for 2020 applications is Wednesday 15th January 2020 at 11:59pm

The Governing body have determined Admissions Arrangements for 2020-2021. 

It’s very important that applications are made on time, as late applicants have less chance of being allocated a place at their preferred school.


Children Starting School September 2020

Children born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 can start school in September 2020. You can apply online at  or download an application form. Further information can be found in the Starting Schools booklet, or you can contact School Admissions by email  or telephone 01275 884078. The deadline for the submission of applications to North Somerset School Admissions is 23:59 on Wednesday 15 January 2020.

Children Starting Secondary School September 2020

Children currently in Year 6 transfer to a Secondary School in September 2020.


Online applications for pupils moving to a secondary school are now closed. You can still apply, but you will need to make a paper application instead. Your application will be processed later in the year.
