Mead Vale Primary School is now closed. We remain open between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, for children who are identified as vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the COVID-19 response, as defined in government documentation.
Following a rise in COVID-19 cases in Weston-super-Mare and the precautionary closure of local A&E provision, Trustees have decided to delay the wider reopening of ELAN schools to children in Preschool, YR, Y1 and Y6 by one week.
This will be reviewed by trustees on 4th June. Confirmation of specific year group opening dates, times and procedures will be conveyed to parents and carers following this review.
A Sporting Challenge From Mr Watkins
I hope you are all safe and well! Monday 1st June is the first day of the very exciting 'Virtual Summer School Games' from Wesport.
Each week, there will be a new sporting challenge for you to try and see how well you can do. The challenge lasts for a full week so you have lots of time to try to beat your scores!
Once you are happy that you have achieved the best score you possibly can, send your scores in to Wesport. You can find all of the information here:
Read it through with your parents before trying to send anything off!
I would also love to see your attempts so please post any videos or pictures of you trying the challenges on our Twitter or Facebook pages. We will also post a selection from each challenge onto the school website!
real PE at home – online learning resources
real PE at home includes an online programme which supports families to be active, play and learn together. It includes a programme specifically for children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 with 12 themes, 6 areas, over 250 activities and challenges and 1000s of hours of fun and activity.
For children in Key Stage 2 there are carefully selected personal best challenges, skills and games designed for the home and garden. Daily and weekly guidance is provided for both programmes in addition to an option to choose your own themes and activities.
There are so many benefits to being active, not only to our physical wellbeing but also to our emotional and mental health, especially in such testing times for all of us. We hope that the ideas help support you and your family to stay fit and healthy in the coming months. Here are the details to access real PE at home:
