There will be no After School Club on the last day of term, Tuesday 19th December.

23rd November 2017

Dear Parents/Carers,

Tomorrow(Friday, 24th November), children may come dressed in non-school uniform in exchange for the following donations for the Christmas Fayre (to be brought into school tomorrow):

·         We would like children in Reception to bring in small or unwanted gift sets for men and women,

·         Years 1, 2 & 3 Chocolate for the Chocolate Tombola and

·         Years 4, 5 & 6 bottles for the bottle tombola.

(Please remember that children will be going out to play in their Christmas clothes, so best party clothes, long dresses etc. are probably not advisable for safety reasons).

We are still in need of volunteers to help during the day from 9am until 12noon and from 1.30pm until 7pm on Friday 1st December. Just 30 minutes of your time would make a huge difference to help raise money for your children. If you are able to offer any help please go to the face book page www.facebook.com/groups/friendsofmeadvale

The PTFA are having ‘hot dog Friday’ tomorrow after school from 3:20pm. They will be on sale in the playground and cost £1 per hot dog.

On Monday 27th November, we shall be holding a teddy bear amnesty where we would like children to bring in their un-wanted teddy bears (please make sure that any teddy’s brought in are in a good and clean condition). Please hand these teddy bears to Mrs Bonney in Year 4. Thank you

School Photographs – The photographers have extended the deadline for returning your orders to Tuesday 28th November with no late fee costs.

Lego – We are hoping to set up a form of Lego therapy for children in Mead Vale School, and wondered if anyone has any Lego at home that is no longer used which they would be willing to donate. We are especially looking for: figures, trees and plants, flags, blocks with faces on, swings and roundabouts, pink bricks, swords, vehicle parts, animals, doors, windows, base boards and normal Lego bricks. If you are able to donate any Lego please bring it to the school office, your support is most appreciated. Thank you. Mrs Ryan (SENDCo)

Early Close – For those parents who would like to collect your child early on the last day of term (Tuesday 19th December), you are able to do so from 1:30pm. The playground gates will be open at 1.30 pm. Teachers or teaching assistants will be at classroom doors to ensure that children are safely matched with their parents or carers. Please do not go into children’s classrooms.  Children will not be allowed to go home on their own.

If your child is to be collected by someone other than the usual person that collects them, please let us know. The playground gates will be closed at 1.45 pm.

Any parents wishing to collect children after 1.45 pm must please come to the school office and your child will be brought to you. The playground gate will be opened at 3.10 pm as usual and locked at 3.30 pm.

Top Table - This week Mason, Joshua, Ryan, Louise, Taylah and Amelie (from Toucan class) have been chosen by the lunchtime supervisors to join the ‘Top Table’ for having super behaviour, good manners and using their cutlery well (if they have hot dinners). Well done everyone!

Time to start school - If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 you need to apply for a Reception Year place for September 2018. The closing date for these applications is 15th January 2018. For more information or to apply online please visit www.nsomerset.gov.uk/admissions
