Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for all your kind messages of support and congratulations on being appointed the substantive Headteacher of Mead Vale Community Primary School. Since I’ve joined in May things have progressed well and we’ve made a tremendous amount of progress. The school is in a strong position to make further improvements and much of this is a credit to the commitment to learning from all pupils. Staff continue to ensure the curriculum is exciting and enriches learning and with your continued support, the children of Mead Vale can succeed well beyond the school community.

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) MAT update:

We would like to congratulate our fellow schools: Bournville, Locking, Milton Park, Oldmixon, Walliscote and Windwhistle primary schools for becoming a Multi Academy Trust on 1st October 2017.

I am in regular contact with the Department for Education Academies Regional Delivery Group, South West Team and I can report that following the Governing Bodies decision to become part of ELAN MAT the school will join in the near future.

Mead Vale continues to be a partner with ELAN, and works closely with all six schools. I attend weekly advisory board meetings and lead one of the networks. All seven schools are involved in the joint INSET day on 30th October.

This is an historic time for Mead Vale School and my priority is to continue to provide an inspiring education for all our learners whilst protecting the school’s role at the heart of our community and retaining its unique qualities and strengths. The Governing Body and I believe that the best way of maintaining this in the future is for our school to proceed with the ELAN MAT.

I hope you will agree that this is an exciting time for all our schools. We are looking forward to continuing our working partnership with you and your children.

Polite Reminder: Please can I remind parents that you are not able to come into the main school playground when dropping children off in the mornings; this is for the safeguarding of all of our pupils. Reception parents are still welcome to drop their children off in the reception playground using the reception side gates only.
