Christmas Craft Fayre tomorrow, Saturday 14th October from 2pm until 5pm

This year we have decided to split the Christmas Fayre into two events, the first event is tomorrow and will have external stalls selling beautiful crafted gifts perfect for Christmas presents! The second event will be on 1st December and will have school run stalls, games and Santa’s grotto.

All of the stalls for tomorrow’s craft fayre will be inside in the warm. Entry is £1 per family, there will be face painting, tea, coffee, refreshments, scrumptious popcorn (made from our new popcorn machine) and many more fun things! I look forward to seeing you there.

North Somerset School's P.E Association Cross Country – 24 children from years 4, 5 and 6 participated in this event at Hutton Moor on Wednesday (11th October). 8 Children from each year group (4 boys and 4 girls) represented Mead Vale brilliantly and were a real credit to themselves and to our school. The Year 4 event was a 'fun run' event, giving the children experience of a cross country run before they enter the competition stage next year. All of the Year 4 children did brilliantly but a special mention must go out to Amelie, who finished within the top ten runners of the girl's event. The Year 5 and 6 children were in the competition and gave it their absolute all - particularly a few of the Year 6 boys who had been feeling under the weather. Another special mention for the Year 5 boys’ team who came in third place overall - a great achievement. It was great to see so many children competing for Mead Vale. We are extremely proud of the children and look forward to more sporting events throughout the year.

Celebration Assembly – Please may I kindly ask you to return the celebration cup your child received at the end of last term. We would like them to be back in school for next Tuesday 17th October (at the latest) ready for our next celebration assembly.

Time to start school - If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 you need to apply for a Reception Year place for September 2018. The closing date for these applications is 15th January 2018. For more information or to apply online please visit www.nsomerset.gov.uk/admissions

Top Table - This week Phoebe, Chloe, Kayden, Karson, Luca and Johannes (from Canaries class) have been chosen by the lunchtime supervisors to join the ‘Top Table’ for having super behaviour, good manners and using their cutlery well (if they have hot dinners). Well done everyone!
