Jubilee Day 27th May

We have had a lovely Jubilee day today, making crowns, publishing our writing about what we would do if we were king or queen for the day, drawing portraits of the Queen and, of course, our big picnic, corgi hunt and performance to parents this afternoon. Thank you to everyone who came, and to Puffins for all your hard work this term. Have a lovely holiday and see you back fresh for Term 6!

Mrs Withers and Miss Laing

This week we have been learning about weight and mass. As part of the Year 2 curriculum we looked at weighing in grams and made cakes! We have also been using a ruler to measure in centimeters.

Puffin class had a wonderful morning at the beach. They looked for human impact and decided whether it was positive or negative. They also explored the river and the sand dunes to see if they could spot any habitats.

Puffin class had a wonderful time at the scooter workshop this week. Thank-you teamrubicon

wb 11.10.21- This week we went on a local walk around Worle to look for landmarks. We filled our map in using a key.

Our topic in DT this term has been moving vehicles. We have been exploring how wheels turn and looking at different shapes of vehicles. We have designed and made our own moving vehicles.

We have been learning all about Judaism

We have been learning the story of Little Red Riding Hood ready to support our story writing next week. We have drawn a story map, looked at key vocabulary and practised retelling the story in small groups.

Puffin class have been getting ready for the Easter weekend. They have been learning how Christians celebrate Easter and retelling the Easter story. They were lucky enough to make Easter nests with Mrs Borrows. The children also make an Easter basket by carefully cutting out the nest of a cube and fixing it together. Finally, they made moving part Easter cards which linked in well to their D and T topic this term. Have a lovely break everyone. Happy Easter :-)

We made Christmas tree decorations with Mrs Borrows

This week the children are going to be opening the ELAN advent calendar and there is lots of exciting things for them to see and do behind each door. The children have already started decorating the classroom by making paper chains and putting up the Christmas tree. They have a surprise coming on Thursday and hopefully they will be able to tell you all about it as we count down to Christmas.
