Sports Day July 2021
We were very proud of all the children today. They showed a great competitive spirit whilst having lots of fun. You could definitely hear us cheering each other on!
In year 2 we have been finding out about what is the same and what is different about living in Kenya.
The rain dance is a cultural/ religious belief in Africa and in some tribes they would dance to the Gods after they have had a long drought, to bring some rainfall. The children then created their own rain dance.
In maths we have been measuring length and height to the nearest centimeter. We had great fun finding things that were longer than and shorter than a given measurement.
In our class we have been reading the text Glass Slipper, Golden Sandal. We have been thinking about traditional tales and their characteristics. We started off by looking at objects in a bag and guessing which character it belonged to. We then created characters for our own narrative and used extended noun phrases to describe them.
