Mead Vale Primary School has sat within the heart of the Worle area of Weston-Super-Mare since 1977. We are a small, close-knit school community. We value trust, honesty and helping the children and each other to be the best we can be. We describe our school as a family where our school values of curiosity, courage and community are threaded through school life.
At Mead Vale we work hard, and we are kind. Relationships between staff and pupils are very strong and children have a sense of worth enabling them to play a positive role in school life. Our children describe the school as a community and believe it is a safe, collaborative place to learn where they know that adults always deal with concerns quickly.
Our school benefits from extensive grounds which provide access to large green spaces, an established forest school and play grounds for children. We believe that children need to play, be creative and take risks. Our OPAL journey began in September 2022 and since this time, we have started to transform our outdoor environment. Our children love the new outdoor opportunities and the OPAL approach offers so much more for them to do! Through this approach to play, children are not only more active at lunch or break times, but they are also having the opportunity to further develop life skills such as co-operation, team work and problem solving. OPAL Play gives the opportunity to be motivated and enthusiastic builders, engineers, explorers & designers.
Providing the best opportunities for pupil outcomes sits at the centre of what we do at Mead Vale. We recognise diversity within our community and this is reflected in the inclusive nature of our school. Our broad and balanced curriculum ensures pupils have the opportunity and exposure to a wide and rich variety of experiences and learning. As parents and carers we want you to become fully involved in your child’s education, and the life of the school generally.
